SevenStar Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 Drive you head into the left side of his neck, control his right arm with an overhook and try and drive him onto his back. Keep your arms in against your body and use the strength of your whole body, not your arms - this is especially relevant against a big guy. I use that. I will also sometimes use my hand to block the person's leg, then push them in that direction - since I have the leg blocked, they can't base out. Doing this will usually result with you in their guard, but you can pass and keep going.
SevenStar Posted May 9, 2003 Posted May 9, 2003 I personally would tie up with the person and then I would jerk him quickly in a direction. His natural instinct would be to pull back in the opposite direction. I would then follow through and use his momentum against him to put him on his back. In the future though I would ask my teacher to show me some techniques for this situation. eventually, you'll run into grapplers who want you to do that. They go with your force, instead of against it. they will continue to go forward, and just attack you that way. This especially works great while standing.
