Anzie Posted April 27, 2003 Posted April 27, 2003 This is for grappling without Gi. When I'm practicing my grappling, me and my partner start out on our knees. The only thing I can think of being a smart start-move is to get him into a guilotine-choke. Except, this does not work versus a big opponent (at least not for me). So in short, when I'm grappling (starting on the knees) versus a bigger opponent, and he is stronger than me (and obviously bigger), what should I go for first? Hope you understood all this, I'm a bit tired now. Grappling enthusiast!Shootfighting as well.
WolverineGuy Posted April 27, 2003 Posted April 27, 2003 I personally try to get them into my guard, then work into a sweep over into the mount. This isn't always the best strategy, but its usually the easiest for me. Wolverine1st Dan - Kalkinodo"Shut up brain, or I'll stab you with a q-tip""There is no spoon."
Venezolano Posted April 27, 2003 Posted April 27, 2003 Mine too... i try to take him into my guard and then work from there, try some submissions, if i don't get any, inmediately i try to sweep Valencia - Venezuela.

JohnnyS Posted April 27, 2003 Posted April 27, 2003 Drive you head into the left side of his neck, control his right arm with an overhook and try and drive him onto his back. Keep your arms in against your body and use the strength of your whole body, not your arms - this is especially relevant against a big guy. Davison Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 remember that it should not matter who is bigger or sttronger, think flow.jujutsu ,traditionally is about using your opponents energy against them. If a technique does not work at the time of use, abandon it and flow to the next, spending too much time on one technique can be frusterating. Why punch someone when their on the ground when you can just kick them
LOILOI44 Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 I personally would tie up with the person and then I would jerk him quickly in a direction. His natural instinct would be to pull back in the opposite direction. I would then follow through and use his momentum against him to put him on his back. In the future though I would ask my teacher to show me some techniques for this situation.
Terry Bogard Posted April 30, 2003 Posted April 30, 2003 i can easily win if i get IN THEIR GUARD, first grab their legs and turn them over onto their stomach by turning thier legs and your body, then you should be facing away from them and get your legs on the outside of theirs and hook thier legs over the top of theirs and push down on thier legs, great submission move
kenpo4life Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 Get Roy Harris takedown from the knees video, VERY GOOD If my survival means your total destruction, then so be it.
