AndrewGreen
Depends on your interests.. In Thai boxing being able to fight with a 3-sectional staff won't help much. Pretty much anywhere but in training that won't help much. But it is fun, and I do it. SOme weapons are more practical then that though, Doesn't matter, I have fun with and with out so I do both. chuck_girl
I think a plain ol bo is great. don't get me wrong, chucks are my fave, and sais are flashy, but are you gonna find a pair of chucks on the ground when you want to fight. On the other hand, a broomstick, or branch, or something shaped like a bo is likely to be found. Plus, a wide range of styles use the bo staff. Most karate schools for sure. It's like our master says, if you want a weapon, buy a gun, but if you want to better yourself and learn grace and coordination, buy martial arts weapons. KaratekaAikidoist
Well, in a bar fight, a pool stick could be used as a bo or you could break it in two for escrima sticks. Most of these weapons came from Japanese and Chinese farming equipment. If you want to take a weapon art, do it but make sure you don't hurt yourself or ne thing. I prefer bokken or sword.
