We too had STORM (kids) and SWAT (adults) as part of our instructor/leadership training program. Students were selected based on character and performance in class. Role models in the lower rank classes was a tremendous help to students and instructors alike!

We have a Leadership "Team". It's a way of bringing in the higher kyu ranks and providing them an extra level of instruction on how to educate a class. They learn how to properly run a class without the Head instructor being on the floor at all times. Primarily for brown belts.

As for everyone else, they are expected to help others when they can. Ignorance is not tolerated.
