OrangamusJulius Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 I want to start my own school, with my head instructors approval of course. What do you think would make a good name? Our art is based on TKD, but only loosely. For example, we punch a lot. We do a lot of self defense training, and generally stick more closely to the ITF kata set (though not exclusively). We study weapons as well. Thanks for any ideas you have.
G95champ Posted April 22, 2003 Posted April 22, 2003 The City or town or state you are in then TKD Accademy, CLUB, DOJO, or School Your last name TKD Accademy. Club , dojo, or school The name of your teaches Club and start a franchise. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
IAMA_chick Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 all of those are good ideas. there aren't really anymore to list. our school is Indiana Academy of Martial Arts. Tae Kwon Do15-years oldpurple--belt
hobbitbob Posted April 23, 2003 Posted April 23, 2003 If I ever have my own Dojo, I think I'll call it: Robert's Home of Future and Continuing Orthopaedic Patients. There have always been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm!
karate_woman Posted April 24, 2003 Posted April 24, 2003 Since you state you only practice TKD loosely, I'd suggest Korean Martial Arts, Korean Martial Arts Centre, Korean Self Defense Arts...something along those lines. The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. -Lao-Tse
CloudDragon Posted August 24, 2003 Posted August 24, 2003 Whatever you do, don't put the word "extreme" anywhere in the name, everything from sports to dental floss is being labled "EXTREME!!!" A Black Belt is just a white belt that don't know when to quit!
Guest Posted September 18, 2003 Posted September 18, 2003 Why not use the name of the school you earned your rank under and start a 'chain' of dojos?
