I bet that he never, ever will fight on the street!!!. Wanne bet against?. No matter how god you are in something you can still get shot!. I don't know if any of you ever had a seriuos street fight, and with that I don't mean a fight against some drunk punk, but a real life or dead fight with a maniac armed with a knife, but you don't wanna be there, believe me!. Nor will mister Royse Grasie, so it is never gonna happend. Case closed.

So let me get this straight, unless someone has a knife or gun, it's not a real street fight? Give me a freaking break. You obvioulsy have something against the gracies or anyone who participates in NHB fighting. Just because a great fighter participates in tournaments, that does not mean he is a pushover in a street fight. Everybody gets immediately defensive when someone talks about NHB fighters. Seems like several people on this site are quick to say things like "OH, he's get his ass kicked on the street" oh really? I want to see anybody from this board or someone you know, go pick a fight with someone who fights in Vale T. tournaments, NHB or Pride. You kick Royce Gracie's ass on the street and then you can come back here and talk smack about how they can't fight on the street. These guys fight for a living, meaning that in a street situation, they are much better equiped to handle a maniac than you or I.

Why do you people think that because Royce can beat trained fighters in the ring, he can't beat untrained people (who can't even throw a straight punch) in the street ?

What makes the guy on the street deadlier than a trained fighter ?

Why is everyone getting so heated anyway?

Yes, Royce Gracie is certainly an excellent fighter. As for him fighting on the street - I think it would be reasonable to assume he'd have a better chance then most people out there if they were attacked, but beyond that is mere speculation. Assuming that he was able to fight when he was attacked, he wouldn't go down without a fight, but we have no idea who this mysterious attacker is, what they would do, or what condition Royce would be in. For example, if he was hit on the head from behind with a crowbar or something he's not exactly going to be in his best form - if he's even still conscious!

Bottom line: no matter who you are - and Royce Gracie is no exception - you shouldn't underestimate your opponent.

I'm sorry, but I think the question has a majority answer.

I'm closing this before any open disrespect for Mr. Gracie starts up.
