WC-Strayder
It's like SoulAssassin says, it not worth it!. For a great deal of years ago I was fighting a dude that after a while out in the fight sudenly pulled a knife on me. All I had to defend myself with was a glass of beer and I still regret this, many years later, coz I blinded him on one eye and cut him up with the beer glass so bad that he allmost bleed to death. I'll regret this very mush today, coz maybe I'd ruined his life, his dreams, maybe his future and didn't had the guts to go and speak with him after it happend, affraid off what he might do to me for revenge. This still houndts me from time to time, coz not even my wife knows about this little secret of mine, that something I'm not proud of, believe me!. So take my advice; don't do any street fighting just for the "fun" of fighting, it may ruin lifes, yours or others and in a worst case take lifes too. Prison is a lonelly place for a MA, coz every one will try you out!. So don't do it!. If the first lesson was a failure, then you know that skydiving isn't for you! Treebranch
Well I don't think SoulAssasin should feel quilty, the guy did pull a knife. Unless SA had been bullying him for a while, I don't know what the situation was, but if someone pulled a knife I'd do the same thing. broomhilda000
I have to older brothers that are both 5 to 6 years older than me. They used to beat the crap out of me almost every day. I had to learn to survive, and being sneaky and dirty was what worked. When I got in fights at school with kids my age, I would reck them, there punches didn't phase me. I think my brothers trained me well. Yep tree branch good ol' hill billy wrestling style. Use your enviornment like your neighbors mailbox. Ok ok but martial arts teach you forms and technique not just guess and swing so that you know how to handle things, they work for somethings but not all that's I stick with good ol' hill billy wrestling, and having a black belt in judo doesn't hurt any to know how to throw them onto the bar counter =) Be as a tranquil pool of water in the woods. broomhilda000
I grew up fighting. Basiclly most of my martial arts was ineffective. I mean most people fight without form. They not know how to fight so they improvise and swing away, throw rocks, bite, etc... You have to fight on the street in order to learn how to fight without using strictly martial arts. You have to incorperate both. Personally, I tried to use tang soo do and got my ass kicked. Then I start to fight a little dirty and incorperated it with tang soo do and I came out on top. Until I furtherd my training. Now I incorperate everything I know. Though, if you dont have to fight then dont. Its not worth it. For some people its the only thing they can do, or the only thing they know. It isnt worth it. I have a post on here explaining how my friend died. I used to fight weekly sometimes daily. Not a way to live. Now I only fight when needed. But if you think your superman read my other post and I hope none of this happens to you. where is your post located? granmasterchen
I have been in quite a few fights on the streets even a few agains multiple opponents, yet ever since i started martial arts i have won, granted before i started i got banged up pretty good, the first fight i was in after training involved two guys with bats, after a few hits i took one down and when i had the other down i was on top and blacked out, i came to my senses with blood everywhere, i had some fractured bones and such but i had won, ever since then i have managed to learn and control the situation and can keep perfect cool now, so the fights are much easier and result in little to no damage to me. superfighter
i got in to a fight with someone at my school who was a karate bigshot. i kicked him in the gut and winded him around 10 seconds. that was really the only move i could do becasue he was crazy while coming forward and throwing crazy punches. Thats a situation i never want to get in to again ITF Black Belt Tae Kwon DO

I see that the post is no longer here. I will try and talk to the mod who closed the post because of the story, so I can share it again. If not I will repost it got in to a fight with someone at my school who was a karate bigshot. i kicked him in the gut and winded him around 10 seconds. that was really the only move i could do becasue he was crazy while coming forward and throwing crazy punches. Do not get me wrong I bet there are plenty of styles that you can use, but if they swing wildly its going to be hard to pull off anything. -SoulAssassin"I aint gonna eat, I aint gonna sleep, aint gonna breath till I see what I wanna see and what I wanna see is you goto asleep, in the dirt permanently"
