GojuMaster Posted April 19, 2003 Posted April 19, 2003 I have been thinking of cross training boxing with a martial art but i dont know what martial art to train in if you have any suggestions and why you made thoughs suggestions. any thing would be greatly appreciated thnx If you cannot be made you cannot be broken
TJS Posted April 20, 2003 Posted April 20, 2003 krav Maga, Muay Thai, Kyokushin karate would all go great with it IMO. OR something like Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling would also work very well BJJ/Boxing and Wrestling/boxing are both extremly effective combos that have done very well.
ForeverTheArt Posted April 20, 2003 Posted April 20, 2003 muay thai To advance the art,To honor my sifu,To fight for the sake of the fight.
Wing Chun Posted April 20, 2003 Posted April 20, 2003 well how long have you been doing boxing for? you need something that will enhance your overall style. i mean you need not do some martial styles with strong emphasis on hands movement because boxing fills that need anyway. i would definately say wrestlin or bjj. but muay thai will also be very good because it will enhance your boxing, make you aware of techniques used to subdue boxers and will also add kicks to your arsenal.
GojuMaster Posted April 20, 2003 Author Posted April 20, 2003 I have been boxing for about 2 years now i guess i would say i am a puncher i have a pretty good jab, hook and cross If you cannot be made you cannot be broken
Karateka_latino Posted April 20, 2003 Posted April 20, 2003 Any kind of Kickboxing will blend great with your Boxing background. But, i lean towards Muay Thai since you'll not only learn how to kick, but you'll also learn how to use your elbows, knees, clinch, etc... Also, some grappling wouldn't hurt.
