Jack Posted September 6, 2001 Posted September 6, 2001 Me and a good friend of mine are going to do something along the lines of what you suggested a while ago... We are both getting cheap gym memberhship, we will go on the exercise bikes and rowing machines for a while, then go outdoors onto the grass and just practice fighting together for ages. Not just a martial art, he does none he just practices boxing and stuff at home I do Tae Kwon-Do... we're just gonna fight and think ideas on how to help, think up techniques on what to do if someone gets you in certain positions then practice them to hell and back, so on and so forth, always improving, and getting used to being hit and all this... good down to earth combat training! How does this sound to the two ppl I mentioned in the topic? [ This Message was edited by: Patrick on 2001-09-06 13:28 ] JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
Angus Posted September 7, 2001 Posted September 7, 2001 Heh, R u still gonna go to classes for TKD? Sparring's always a good idea. It sounds like a bit of fun, nothing outta the ordinary for me though. Angus Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.
thaiboxerken Posted September 7, 2001 Posted September 7, 2001 I am not much into full-contact sparring. It's a good test of skill once in a while, but you really don't learn from beating each other up. Sparring should be a training method, you need to learn when you do it. Try not to injure each other. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.

Joecooke007 Posted November 26, 2001 Posted November 26, 2001 That's pretty cool. I may do that now that you mention it with one of my fighting friends. Boards don't hit back. -Bruce Lee
