martialartist1 Posted April 28, 2003 Posted April 28, 2003 Yeh Muay Thai and Thai Boxing at present is the same thing, but sometimes certain clubs use Thai Boxing to simplify the Muay Thai because when westerners see Muay Thai and have never heard of that style before they may think its a kungfu style because of the word 'Muay'. Thats just an idea. On some other cases Thai Boxing could be thought as Boxing from Thailand, but without the kicks, thats why its a bit confusing sometimes. Personally I prefer the more complete word Muay Thai.
