jake Posted April 12, 2003 Author Posted April 12, 2003 already tried that their foot followed my head and instead of a hook kick it turned into an axe kick to the head
ninjanurse Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 Have you tried jamming inside, punch to midsection, pop out with a frontkick? "A Black Belt is only the beginning."Heidi-A student of the artsTae Kwon Do,Shotokan,Ju Jitsu,Modern Arnishttp://the100info.tumblr.com/

GhOsCeLL Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 You have to have fast reflexies. When they go for the kick, quickley sweep their leg. "Osu!"
JerryLove Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 It depends on the rules of sparring at your school. Options (which may not be allowed / available include) Step in and kick their knee or groin (shorter distance). Step back and come in as soon as their foot crosses you. Hit their leg. Bone shield (taking the hit) while you step in and trip/sweep/hit them in the groin. https://www.clearsilat.com
karatekid1975 Posted April 14, 2003 Posted April 14, 2003 In self defense drills, we defend against kicks. One we do is parry and punch their inner thigh, and backfist/punch to the face ..... well we are not allowed to do that during sparring, but it definitely works. Laurie F
