Kaju_influenced Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Hello again everyone i was wondering, i am currently practicing kajukenbo a kinda overkill MA when it comes to being in a streetfight or whatever kinda situation. My question is as a MA in a fight(not competition) more or less in the street how would u deal with an agressor and lets not get too technical meaning he/she is really trying to hurt you maybe not kill but severly bash ur head in and the choice to difuse the situation is lost. Im just curious as to what people think so please try not to go off topic, Thnx alot and good luck in your training "Sweat more in the dojo, bleed less in the street"Kajukenbo fighters axiom.
SevenStar Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 merciful. As a supposed trained fighter, you can gauge when enough is enough.
Tombstone Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 As for a "street fight", its kill or be killed so to speak. All the rules go out the window and its all about survival. For those people still in school, then I guess its all about fighting back till a teacher breaks it up.
ramymensa Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 I'd be extremely agrresive till the point he backs up. When I know he can't harm me I'll let him go. I'd use punches and kicks full force, still I'd try to do the smallest damage possible. I's be a cross between overkill and merciful. When the agressor is neutralized, I don't think I should continue tha fight. Of course till the point of exchanging kicks, I'd try to solve the situation peacefully World Shotokan Karate

SBN Doug Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 I say "mercifull", but it still depends on the situation. If my family is in danger, then that's another story. If he's got friends surrounding me and I have none, same story. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
Martial_Artist Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 I fight until the situation is resolved. Whatever that takes that is the limit I take it to. I do not set a precedent on the fight until it happens. I fight until safe. Being merciful depends on the situation. If a simple punch or even mere words resolve the situation then I have acted as far as the situation necessitates and that is merciful. However, if the opponent presses and further action is required I will do so, not taking any chances, until it is resolved in my favor. Kyle-san Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 Merciful until I feel that I'm in severe danger. I'm obviously not going to go right into a break when I'm dealing with a drunk who thinks he's tough at the moment, but put someone's life in danger (mine or anyone else's) and I wouldn't hesitate to use the full technique.
dark_adjudication Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 Until I feel safe. Read my quote...
