Shotokan_Fighter Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 have aby of you guys ever trained in water?? i have i go down to the lake by my house in a old gi and belt and train in water about shoulder high. I like it beacuse of the natural resistance it is hard but very effective, you really learn balance, punches are harder and faster and same for you kicks also "When I fight, I fight with my heart, and soul. My heart, and soul is Shotokan Karate."Shotokan_fighters creed"karate has to come natural in a fight, if you have to think about using karate in a fight, you will loose the fight"3rd kyu brown belt - shotokan karate

SaiFightsMS Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Training in water is a different experience. For those of us who are not exactly as mobile as others it is a good place to experiment with new kicking techniques.
SBN Doug Posted April 11, 2003 Posted April 11, 2003 Not as regular training, but I have once in a while. I do like the resistance, especially for speed training. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.

karatekid1975 Posted April 12, 2003 Posted April 12, 2003 Ooops. That was a little confusing, wasn't it Sub LOL. I tried to say that I love body surfing, but I never worked out (forms, kicks and stuff) in the water. It's worth a try, though. Better, Sub? Laurie F
