SevenStar Posted April 10, 2003 Posted April 10, 2003 Also, the guard. No, you don't want to be on the ground, but if you are, guard is as good a place to be as any, defensively. your opponent is covering all of your major frontal areas, and your face if your head is tucked. they can still kick the back of you, but I'd prefer that over getting stomped in the throat, stomach, ribs, face, etc. At your first opportunity, sweep the guy to reverse, and attempt to get back to your feet.
WhiteBelt Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 If you're facing multiple untrained people: -take out the biggest as fast as you can, the rest will likely run -you need to be very quick to create openings to escape -fight dirty if you have to -keep them from surrounding you Easiest way to learn all that is to train for it in the dojo, and like everything else start small. I've tried it twice and it seems to be effective. Sometimes you don't even need to run or fight, if you can intimidate the toughest of them. If the people you're facing are all trained, ready and willing to fight, then rundo is your only option...
Anzie Posted May 4, 2003 Posted May 4, 2003 If the people you're facing are all trained, ready and willing to fight, then rundo is your only option... Not if your name is Rickson, and you can call your brothers for assistance... Grappling enthusiast!Shootfighting as well.
JIUJITSUFIGHTER Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 stop trying to find holes in bjj, insulting and criticizing (in a bad way) the art, won't make you feel better about yourself and your innefective art forms. jiu-jitsu is invicinble
WhiteBelt Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 If you can get people for assistance then who needs rundo? Heh, if you're as good as those guys well, you probably wouldn't worry about it anyway.
kenpo4life Posted May 5, 2003 Posted May 5, 2003 Guys, Once someone told me only 3 arts are useful against multiple attackers: Run-Fu, Gun-Fu, and Car-Fu But in regards to bjj, Rigan Machado once told me that he would try to run, or use basic throws to put the guys down hard on their heads. As he is one of the most respected teacher of bjj, I would say that if you cant throw them, RUN! If my survival means your total destruction, then so be it.
