Iron Arahat
This started in the introductions...I thought I'd bring it here. Ken...Chi Sao with boxing gloves is going to inhibit the sensitivity training you develop to read and trap, push, etc... If you want to make contact, wear chest protectors instead of completely covering the hands. Good chi sao will incorporate traps and locks. thaiboxerken
Get a helmet for the face too, eh? I dunno.. I feel most of the "energy" of my opponent through my fore-arms and not my hands so much. I think I'll give boxing gloves a try and see how it works out. I'll let ya know how it goes. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts. Iron Arahat
I guess boxing gloves may work for the basic chi sao... You feel "energy" Ken in the forearms? Hope your not refering to "chi"... thaiboxerken
I'm talking about feeling the the way a person is moving based on touch sensitivity. It really has nothing to do with "Chi". I only say energy because it's a little easier to illustrate. Just kick 'em, they'll understand.- Me Apprentice Instructor under Guro Inosanto in Jun Fan Gung Fu and Filipinno Martial arts.Certified Instructor of Frank Cucci's Linxx system of martial arts.
