Pacificshore
First make sure you are entirely warmed up and stretched out. Next pick a kick you want to work on, and slowly workout the mechanics of the kick. As you do this take note of what your hips are doing, in other words is it "turning over" is it not, is your kicking leg extended and aligned with your hip, and your hip aligned with your body. Do this with excercise with all your kicks and get a feel for proper alignment when throwing your kicks. Start slow, then medium, then fast. You can kick in the air, but be careful of the knee joints. If you have a heavy bag or free standing bag work on that as it gives. Remember to focus not only on the mechanics of the kick, but your focus through the target. Then practice, practice, practice!!!! Hope this helps Di'DaDeeeee!!!Mind of Mencia

YODA
You been reading MAI Ad? Pat Strong's Interview? LOL! I disagree - the key to Bruce Lee's speed was a very strong work ethic & total dedication to training. Non intention was an element of some of his initiation speed but not the key YODA2nd Degree Black Belt : Doce Pares Eskrima https://www.docepares.co.ukQualified Instructor : JKD Concepts https://www.jkdc.co.ukQualified Fitness Instructor (Weights, CV, Circuit, Kinesiology)

Justfulwardog
Pay attention to your supporting legs foot placement. When you set it down in preperation for your kick, it should be pointed at about 9-10 o clock. That is how I learned to turn my hip over. Thuggish
if you want to get good at kicking, get a bag and kick it. keep in mind the kicks bruce lee did in movies were not the kicks he would do in real life- though they look better on film. a broken arm throws no punches

Ironberg
jumping into the splits? *wince* Naw, man! First learn how to "ski" (slide) into the splits before jumping into them.
