i am doing my first eskrima lesson tomorow anyone got some good tips for me? :karate:

Ummmm, don't hit yourself on the head with the sticks! I've only played a little bit with Escrima sticks, and I think it's really fun. It is pretty easy to give your fingers or your head a good whack, though.

Play with your sticks as much as you can. Practice twirling a lot so that you get comfortable with them. Above all, take it slow...there's no need to be throwing the strikes full speed yet, you need to get the mechanics down more than anything.

hmm i think I wont keep it up, because it has a totaly different philosophy than aikido - the art i currently do. and i would just get in a muddle

but i think win chung would be a good addision, cause it has an evasive philsophy like aikido, not a block then punch philosphy like silat.

For two jigsaw pieces to fit together, they must be different shapes.

Currently: Kickboxing and variants.

Previously: Karate (Seido, Shotokan, Seidokan), Ju Jitsu, Judo, Aikido, Fencing.
