Hi all

This is probably a long shot but...

Does anybody know what the kobudo kata Shu-shi-no-kon means.

Obviously "no-kon" means that the kata uses the staff, but I dont know what the first bit means.

I know, I know, I should know

Most kobudo katas are names after the person who created them eg. the sai kata Matsumura-no-Zai.

However, Shu-shi-no-kon weas created by Master Chinen, not Master Shu-Shi.

I think Tae did kobudo, but shes gone now

Oh well

Interesting

I dont know many Okinawan Kobudo instructors around, only a man called Brian Ford, and doesn't live in leeds.

It could be true though.

Hi Sensei Tobias,

Sensei Dave Wilkins (former student of the late Steve Cattle) practises Kobudo under the watchful eye of Julian Mead (former friend of Steve Cattle). Here's the addresses for both of their websites.

https://www.leicesterkarateclub.co.uk This is the Website belonging to Sensei Dave Wilkins.

This is Julian Meads Website.

Maybe they can help. :karate:
