ramymensa
All good things must have an end. It's also sad to hear it. It's indeed confirmed. May he rest in peace and all his efforts be carried on by the ones who survived him. World Shotokan Karate
HachiKyu
Indeen i am saddened by a sensei's death each time i hear about something bad happening not just dying makes me think about all the other elderly sensei's and how much of an impact they have on shotokan, I worry constantly about Nishiyama Sensei as does my sensei as well. hobbitbob
I just found the website for the University club in Karlsruhe, germany, with whom I trainied in the early 1990's while stationed in Karlsruhe with the Army, and they had pictures from a recent seminar with Ochi Sensei. Ten years have really changed him. It really sneaks up on one that the whole genration of "greats'" like Knanzawa, Enoeda, Ochi, Asai, Osaka, Shirai, etc.. are in their late 70s and early 80s! Yaguchi Sensei here in Denver is pushing 70. There have always been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm!
