okay, this might seem like a stupid question to some, and im sure im gonna lose kudos here for it, but what is the diffrence between the front snap kick and the groin kick? i think its the way you pivot your ankle in the kick and of course, how high it goes, but im still not sure.

It is actually the same exact kick. You are using the instep of your foot and it is just directed at different body parts.

No question is dumb if you really want to know the answer. The first time someone connects with a groin kick you will definately know the difference.

okay, i just have one more technique question and ill be ready for my test on tuesday. when performing the kata Heian Shodan, is there any real visible diffrence between the knife hand blocks and the knife hand strikes? all four of those last moves looked exactly the same to me, but it says block, strike, block, strike.

Every block is a strike..... :brow: :brow: :brow:

Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.

Very true about blocks being strikes also. Nothing like blocking a kick while at the same time striking your opponents leg with the block. Makes him think twice about trying to kick you again.

Knife Hand strike and block are excactly the same techniques I think. And a groin kick and front kick? One hurts more than the other. That's about it I think.

Good Luck in your grading!
