hobz
I know there's already a thread, but its on a different topic then this one. Heres what I'm Wondering: I really like Ninjitsu, i love the style, the spiritual and the philisophical basis behind it. But i also like my karate. I'm 16, and I live in a small town, therefor I can't really get up and drive to the nearest ninjitsu dojo. There isn't one in my town, there is my karate dojo however. Anyways heres the question : Later when I get older, will ANY of my karate help me to develop ninjitsu quicker if I am to join it? Thank you. Rule #1: Play the game to the limit. Damn the consequences.
BKJ1216
Well besides techniques I think the balance self-discepline, strenght ect... will help you get into it a little easier. I'm uncertain about the technique though, I'll let you know on May 12th. White Belt- Shudokan Karate
Kensai
In short ninjutsu and karate are nothing alike in terms of techniques. However the 2 other Budo styles, Aikido and Judo, have a lot more similaritys with Bujinkan Taijutsu.
SaiFightsMS
The discipline you are learning in karate will help you pick up the new skills if you do take up ninjitsu later.
tenguartist
will the two make a good mix though? .:let honor guide your hand:."you won't be alive long enough to remember my name"
Kirves
If you are talking about the Bujinkan type ninjutsu, then no, they don't mix very well. Actually, it is well known that total MA newbies learn Bujinkan Taijutsu faster than those who have already acquired certain habits in karate that are no-no's in Bujinkan taijutsu. Treebranch
Kirves has a good point about Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. It 's hard to undo things, but that shouldn't stop you if you are really interested in it. Kensai has a good point about possibly taking up Judo or Aikido which have similarities to Budo Taijutsu (Ninjutsu).
