Treebranch Posted October 9, 2003 Posted October 9, 2003 Yeah, stay away form Ashida Kim and Frank Dux they are not Ninjutsu practitioners. They simply jumped on the Ninja bandwagon. Warp Spider Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Aside from that, I don't think " annual war games with canada" counts as "every military simulation they participate in." Well, I can't exactly give a reference to every military simulation that the US has taken part in, but of all those I have heard of, the US has won very, very rarely. TJS Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 If I had to give a vote fo rthe best "pound for pound" military in the world it would be the IDF.
ZR440 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 I don't think those war games in Canada have much of the US Army Special Forces participating. I have a friend in the Coast Gaurd participate in it, but my other friend in the Army SF has never been to it. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
ZR440 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 Enough of the diffs between the military. We need to stay on topic here. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
TJS Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 I also think it's comical that Warp spider is always talking about how MMA competitions do not accuratly represent real fights,...they arent a good judge of techniques and stlyes, etc, etc....then he turns around and uses military "games" as a way to judge the effectiveness of the military.
ZR440 Posted October 10, 2003 Posted October 10, 2003 They might represent hand to hand fighting in a controlled space, but not what always will be encountered on the street. Even one of my best friends who is a chief warrant officer doesn't tell me what he does some training missions, so anyone who says they know for sure what the military does without experiencing it can only guess. It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
Warp Spider Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 I also think it's comical that Warp spider is always talking about how MMA competitions do not accuratly represent real fights,...they arent a good judge of techniques and stlyes, etc, etc....then he turns around and uses military "games" as a way to judge the effectiveness of the military. Military wargames use live firearms firing simunitions, armoured vehicles, and even some explosives. "Wargames" is identical to the real thing in every way except that people who get shot only pretend to die/be wounded. There's no special provisions made for safety. Tibby Posted October 11, 2003 Posted October 11, 2003 They use paper wad bullets with infrared scanner at the barrel of the guns. The explosives are weak, you'd have to be urinating on the bomb to get hurt by them. War games and training, they are glorified Laser tag. NHB uses REAL punches, REAL kicks, REAL joint locks. Face it, war games are to war what NHB fighting is to street fighting.
TJS Posted October 12, 2003 Posted October 12, 2003 This gets better and better..Lets hear some more double standards from warp spider... Im going to Start saying War games do not accuratly represent real wars and favor certain teams...
