Have anyone heard of the square and triangle movimentation? The ones that you have to move as if you were in a square and stuff...

I am taking shotokan classes at saturdays and mondays... and he always says the we have to explore the square movimentation... but just couldn't figure how to do that?

if anyone can help me in any kinda of way, i'd apreciate! and if u guys could, i'd be good to mention your opinion about this, if u think is good or not and stuff..

thanx a lot!

See ya

Tell me about it! I was so lost as u are when he said about the Square for movimentation... it sucks... i specially didn't like... i like to fight in the kumite freely to move as I want, not in some geometrical forms...

Its quite straight forward. Used in boxing alot and i assume its the same thing.

You practice moving and punching in a square or takeing diagonal steps for the triangle.

So the sqaure might be three steps to the left punch on each step front foot then rear foot not crossing your feet.

then three steps backwards then right and then forwardws and you have done a square.

Its a drill and you should be moving in a square in a fight but you can apply a step backwards then to the side and you wont cross your feet.

Its for begginers but later on you do circles and other stuff.
