I wanted to see what kind of martial arts people do and how long they've been doing them. 1. How long have you been involved in the martial arts? Started 18 years ago. 2. What martial art(s) do you practice in?(specify style as well as art) a. Karate - Okinawan Goju Ryu d. Jiu-Jitsu - WJJF, Kitsune g. Judo (formerly) i. Tai Chi, Qi Gong - took classes from my Sensei and also a college course Okinawan Kobudo 3. What is your current rank in your art(s)? Shodan - Okinawan Goju Ryu, Kobudo 3rd Kyu - Japanese Goju Ryu Orange (not sure of the kyu as he didn't give me a certificate, just a belt) in Judo Never been graded in Jujitsu; it is just for fun 4. What is your favorite martial art, and why? Kajukenbo Gracie Jiu Jistu Muay Thai Capoeira Yoshinkan Aikido Aiki Kai Aikido Goju Ryu Tae Kwon Do Kali Wing Chun Shorin Ryu Ryu Kyu Kobudo However I only hold what I would consider to be legitimate ranking in: Shorin Ryu= Nidan Tae Kwon Do= 1st degree Black Belt Wing Chun Gung Fu= Blue Sash Ryu Kyu Kobudo= 1st Kyu "We work with being, but non-being is what we use" Tao Te Ching Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Shotokan Karate - 1st Kyu Brown Belt ITF Taekwon Do - 4th Gup Blue Belt Aki Jujitsu - White Belt Wing Chun Kung Fu - Yellow Belt Ketto Ryu Jujutsu - 6th Kyu Yellow Belt Karate and Taekwon Do were both done when I was younger, but I quit for personal reasons. I took Wing Chun for 4 months to see if I liked it, but decided it wasn't for me. I took Ketto Ryu Jujutsu for 4 months in order to continue practicing Jujutsu until I was able to return home. Aki Jujitsu is the art I'm focusing on now, and the one I'll stick with.4. HachiKyu Posted April 17, 2003 Share Posted April 17, 2003 I've been doing martial arts going on 3 years now and am currently studying Shotokan Karate and i am 8b or yellow belt i have done Mo Duk Pai Kung-fu and was a green sash. I want to learn Shaolin Kung-fu and become very proficient in that art.
