Treebranch Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 Check out as many schools as you can from your list, it looks like a pretty good list. I also think, if know why you want to study Martial Arts it would be helpful for making a good decision. If you are small certain Combat Martial Arts might be appropriate or if you want to complete there are a lot of great Martial Arts to choose from. Good Luck. Kamidake Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 I thought "traditional" martial arts meant it was more oriented towards practical uses (as opposed to a more sport- and tournament-oriented focus)? Is that not correct? If so, what exactly IS "traditional" martial arts?
MSPav Posted May 10, 2003 Posted May 10, 2003 A "traditional" style is one that hasn't changed a great deal from its initial format or taken on board ideas from other styles. Generally speaking, they're styles that have been around for quite some time too.
AlteredTach Posted May 25, 2005 Posted May 25, 2005 For a well rounded for of martial arts... I reccomentd American Schools ShaoLin Kempo. For physical fitness there is nothing more taxing and rewarding than Thai Boxing.
