Jack Posted March 29, 2003 Posted March 29, 2003 Because you need to practice control, technique, proper hitting etc. first I would also recommend waiting before you get gi or any equipment specifically for this club - Do you even know you will enjoy training there yet? theswarm Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 train hard, do silly shit later when you have better judgement and skill to do it
IAMA_chick Posted April 1, 2003 Posted April 1, 2003 i think practice is good. i would personally add forearm pads and shin/instep gear to my list. the karate book is a good idea, never thought about it before! definately add a mouth piece and head gear as well. just be careful at first and don't try to over do it. in tkd we started doing sparring the first week, so i dunna? just make sure you don't kill each other and work as a team and tell each other what/ what not to do. it works well that way. does you from do MA?
