BKJ1216 Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 Well I'm going to be learning shudokan karate from a 7th dan instructor name Morris Mack. His instructor was Walter Tood which I think was a 9th dan. So if I truly wanted to, could I learn the entire shudokan karate system from Morris Mack? White Belt- Shudokan Karate
omnifinite Posted March 27, 2003 Posted March 27, 2003 As far as I know usually people know all of the actual techniques when they hit 5th degree, and the degrees after that are given for dedication and improved proficiency. I guess you could call them "honorary". So I don't see why you couldn't learn it all. 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu

omnifinite Posted March 28, 2003 Posted March 28, 2003 (By the way, I was saying a lot of arts follow that pattern... I don't specifically know how Shudokan does things.) 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu
hobbitbob Posted March 28, 2003 Posted March 28, 2003 Does anyone ever learn the "whole art?" Funakoshi stated shortly prior to his death that he was finally begining to understand Choku Zuki. There have always been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm!
BKJ1216 Posted March 28, 2003 Author Posted March 28, 2003 Well if I'm able to learn the whole thing during my life I guess so. White Belt- Shudokan Karate
