I did see that link before here as someone else just recently asked.

 

That term is Japanese and not Korean :karate:

 

I myself prefer "BOO-YAH!!" :D

The three bars in the upper left hand corner means: Sky

 

The five bars in the upper right hand corner means: Water

*Um & Yang Symbol (Middle):

 

- Red represents: Sun, Noble, & Hard

 

- Blue represents: Soft, Young, & Hope

 

Together, they mean: Universe

 

The imaginary line between red and blue means: Vigorous, Full Of Life to create

What is the korean equivialent of the word "Shodan"? We always just say the person is a first dan bb.

 

sah bum nihm for when bb below 4th dan instruct, but what about for a non teaching bb? Is it Ya Dan Ja for black belt holder?

very interesting - and surprising...! :o reminds me of the good old greeks with their four elements. how old exactly is this flag? is it as old as the greeks or did it come up after korea was liberated from the japanese ?
