aes Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 I would like to buy a book for reference that deals mostly with Okinawian Shorin-ryu Karate. Does anyone have a specific recomendation of what is the best one they have hear of or come across? Al 43 Years oldBlue Belt (7th Kyu) Shorin-ryuRoberts Karate
Guest Posted March 25, 2003 Posted March 25, 2003 Hmm, it's hard to choose. Most martial arts books are pretty bad. I own "The Essence of Okinawan Karate-Do." It's ok, it has pictoral examples of many of the kata. They might be a little different from what you practice. The book is in the style of Matsubayashi shorin-ryu, but the names are the okinawan names instead of Japanese so it is a decent reference guide.
