Smith amp Wesson Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Your Government don't trust ya'll to carry gun's ????? Does that mean ya'll aint go no murders & robberies & stuff ???? JJF I'm a little south of ya in a state where we assume only bad folks break the law. But no fear bro...........Get ya one of them really big summer sasuage logs...........Stuff last forever it's got so many persertives in it. Anyhow put that down your pant's..........Now your thinkin...........Great Idea !!!.........I can whip this log out & beat people off with it !!!! I'd be Invincible !!!!! But what you may not relize is....... as you are walkin around town with your concealed weapon.....you might start gettin girlish giggles from the ladies........Don't worry this is normal........They can sence confidence.
jmy77 Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 First - you handled it perfectly - always better not to fight, even though you say certain weapons are illegal, it does not mean that no one has/carries them and unfortunately you probably wouldn't find out until too late. If talking was going no where and you had to fight; well, how good is your BJJ, I would recommend taking on the biggest SOB in their group. Few reasons - A) they will most likely want to watch the big guy take you out, B) it seems to be a general belief that a person willingly to take on a bigger person is slightly nuts (Advantage You) and C) if you beat him - no one is going to challenge you. So you say your BJJ is good (I don't doubt it is) but how good? Could you rely on it? That's just my philosophy. jiu-jitsu fighter Posted March 24, 2003 Author Posted March 24, 2003 well, smith and wesson, could, you say something smart. And jmy, my bjj is really good, I have been doing it for six months, and I can control people much larger than me, (im 140) and I can control and submit, guys much bigger than I am. my boxing skills are you could say average. and I have, training in a street realistic, combative system called (blauer, tactical, confrontational, management systems). so my muay thai and wrestling skills are average as well. as for taking out the first guy. that would not of been the problem, its for taking out the rest of them. I was actually in a situation where 5 guys attacked me, I jumped on one of their backs and clawed the guys face( blood everywhere). they backed off. But I do not want to rely on cheap tactics. I'd rather improve my technique. "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
jmy77 Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 I don't believe there are "cheap tatics" in a street fight. I said take on the biggest guy. Either way what you did worked and that was the point i was tryng to make. Usually the person yelling about unfair fighting and cheap shots - is the guy who lost. Now if it were a competitive match with rules that's a completely different story... "Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit soft." - Pres. Theodore Roosevelt "You don't have to like it, you just have to do it." - Captain Richard Marcinko, USN, Ret."Do more than what is required of you." - General George S. kle1n Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 i would have tried to get a weapon like a stick and ran away. if someone would be fast enough i would quickly brake his arm and run on. Be everything. Be nothing.
Kensai Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 "i would have tried to get a weapon like a stick and ran away. if someone would be fast enough i would quickly brake his arm and run on." "quickly brake his arm"..... hmm....... yeah right.... You make it sound so easy...... In that situation JJ figher, I would have ran. They may catch you, but its unlikely that ALL 10 would be able to, so you might have a fighting chance if they did so. Find a a place where there are lots of other people and hide..........
Smith amp Wesson Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 jjf I thought the sausage log reply was my best yet !!!!!! Are you expecting a serious reply on how to take out 10 fellas bigger than you ?????
jiu-jitsu fighter Posted March 25, 2003 Author Posted March 25, 2003 no, I wanted to know how you guys would have handled the situation. don't be an a$$ "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
jiu-jitsu fighter Posted March 25, 2003 Author Posted March 25, 2003 ok tjs, what relevance does that article have? that he doesn't need to fight anymore? than how did he escape that gang that surrounded him? "When we go to the ground, you are in my world, the ground is the ocean, I am the shark, and most people don't even know how to swim"
