Apparantly, the Heians (Pinans) were developed from Kanku-Dai (Kusanku)

This is true Tobias, all the Heians were taken from Kanku-dai and expanded, this is why in some forms of karate Kanku-Dai is the 1st kata to be taught!

Hi Daz, welcome to the forum.

 

Unsu is a superb kata, but only when its performed well. If performed badly, it looks crap (just like Kanku-Sho).
