BlueDragon1981 Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 Even if Saddam would have done what was asked Bush would still have tried to find a way to go to war. They just used that whole scenario as an excuse. It is just a Political move. I think Russian President Putin said best though. "A BIG POLITICAL MISTAKE" I am all for America and its freedom but take a look at your own country first before you go and medal into other countries. I mean the economy is not gaining like they claim. Jobs are still being lost. Small town and other small areas are soon going to need aid that will not be available to them because the government won't have the money. Giving 22 million and a bunch of wheat and rice to the Iraqi refugees is not going to do anything. They will still hate us. Oh well tough right. Its for the good of the nation and the world. YEAH RIGHT. Instead of going out of debt the war will make us go more into debt and deliver another blow to the unstable economy. Americans aren't stupid. We do not always like what the Politicians do. Don't judge the whole nation like many other countries do on what our president and congress are going. The democracy I believe is not what it used to be. It is only the politicians deciding what is going on. We only have a few idiots to choose from. Thats what it comes down to.
omnifinite Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 (edited) Yeah, better that a few cultures be wiped out than letting the colonists get in trouble with the monarchs . The aborigines aren't doing much with all that land in Australia... someone should go after them next. Shame on them for wasting all that space. And after that all those people running around naked in the rainforests. What's that all about? Anyway... sarcasm aside... I don't quite understand how you can gauge America's moral superiority in part by the ratio of people we've killed in relation to other countries... and then in the same message practically write off an entire race of people as expendable. It's all humanity... either you value human life or you don't. Your stance as I interpret it so far puzzles me. Edited March 21, 2003 by omnifinite 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu
ZR440 Posted March 21, 2003 Posted March 21, 2003 Ah, BlueDragon, as you should know by now our economy is part of the world economy. And if you look at the status of other countries right now we really ain't doin that bad. And as it seems right now, the Iraqis are kinda glad to see us. Smith amp Wesson Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 OF.... all thing's are valued. You wanted to condem folks for doing what would have been done by anyone, at their time.Including the natives. Mighty nice how you can sit back & ponder such things aint it. You aint worried about fillin your belly or falling dead to a common cold. You have toilet paper & asprin & a grocery store down the street. And that is what gives you the ability to look back in history & make silly claims of how If you were king things would have been diffrent Hey man, them natives in them countries you spoke of are still there.......Go live with em a while,Might change your whinny tune
omnifinite Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 Good thing I'm in the only country in the world with toilet paper . My comments were contradictions, not complaints. I'm just rather creeped out by people who think America is the prodigal child, god's gift to the world, best thing since sliced bread. Too elitist and self-important for me to stomach. Like the black belt who comes into the dojo with his chest all puffed up thinking he's the big bad. No wonder people are sick of us. I was watching the news today and they mentioned the first casualties of the war. The first 4 anyway. They glossed over the other 12 (non-Americans) on the helicopter. When did people become Americans first and humans second? How sick is that? Anyway, I pointed out something contrary to your sparkling view of our past and you responded with, "Hey, who cares, everyone else was doing it." I think America is great, but I don't think its history is spotless, I don't think it's anywhere near "enlightened" and I certainly don't think it can do no wrong. In fact, it seems like the various leaders in the world's history who have seen their nations that way are the ones who have done the most damage. If you want to fight delusion that's a good place to start, if you subscribe to any of those ideas. I hope you don't. Besides, the people who think everything is just peachy don't tend to be the ones who make the improvements in the future. *shrug* It seems you've already decided to file me away in the "whiny liberal" box with all the others (when I'm really neither and actually agreed with a lot of what you've said before you said it), so I'm probably just encouraging the lock of yet another thread. 1st Dan HapkidoColored belts in Kempo and Jujitsu

superleeds Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 of....Thats like dimissin the Constitution cause Jefferson had slaves. But you do the math.Count every person America has killed & compare it to China.Germany,Russia,Italy.Franc & England.Spain & the Dutch, Every third world country in Africa.Japan.Every Communist & Dictatorship that has ever existed. Believe it or not The Native Americans weren't the peace lovin pipe smokin, one with nature folks Hollywood has made them out to be. Can you Imange where the world would be right now if the first colonist who came over went back & told their Monarch's...........Well there's this Native people over there........and they got some culture.................But mostly it's lose pack's of folks called tribes...........They don't have a written language & haven't discoverd the wheel yet..........But we could probally swapem beads for land.............Thick we should just leave this new world alone ????And if we do, won't other countries take advantage of it ????......... Yeah of........The world came real close to just lettin the natives be In fac there were actually some tribes which had a written language and their own legal system. Read a book!
BlueDragon1981 Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 I know our economy is better than others but instead of giving 22 million to another country that only likes us when we give them something why not give it to our own country for job etc...
John G Posted March 22, 2003 Posted March 22, 2003 That sky show over Bagdad saw 320 Tomahawk cruise missiles been used, at a million bucks a pop, 22 million is only a drop in the ocean. Oh yeah… Australia dropped is first bomb in anger since the Vietnam War on a “target of opportunity”. Makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside, makes you proud to be Australian. Our (Australia) involvement in the war gets us one step closer to a free trade agreement for wheat exports to the USA. You guys don’t need wheat farmers anyway. The only downside to this is that we’re now number 4 on the extremist hit list. What with the worlds largest Muslim nation (Indonesia) to our north I guess we could be in for a few surprises. If things get too bad, Prime Minister John Howard could always phone up President G. W. Bush to go nuke Jakarta, I’m sure we could find a terrorist link there somewhere. Never mind the blood smell the money. ... John G Jarrett III Dan, ITF Taekwon-Do
ZR440 Posted March 24, 2003 Posted March 24, 2003 Hey John, We have more wheat than we know what to do with. How would there be any profit in shipping any over here? It's happy hour somewhere in the world.
