it takes 4-5 years if u train consecuently to be good in aikido and use it in a real fight.

the most similiar martial art to aikido is the russian martial art called systema. system emphazises like aikido in using the enemys force for ones own purpose. and thats exaclty why aikido is so hard to learn. the movements are unnatrual and dont work with force on a stronger partner. u first have to unlearn and then after some time u use the enemys attacks against himself. because they wont work with force.

Judo is really nothing like Aikido.

 

The Key differences is that in Judo when someone pushes they pull and when someone pulls they push.

 

In Aikido, when someone Pushes we turn and when someone pulls we enter.

 

Although in philosophy they are similar in physical movements they are very different.

yup systema has the same fighting philosophy as aikido
