TJS
Brazilian jiu jitsu spars alot more..I think Rickson said the only diffrence between BJJ and Traditional Jiu Jitsu os that they actually do it in brazil. TJJ has more standing throws/sweeps/strikes also while BJJ focuses mor eon the ground aspects. here is a really good article on the two types. http://bjj.org/editorials/19980308-tradjj/
Kensai
Basically what TJS said, but I would add that TJJ has weapons training to.
Dekan
Well, tonight I am going to observe a possible class I might join. It is BJJ, Judo, Karate and a few others. They actually call it "mixed arts", that they teach the best of a variety of arts. I have heard, but not been confirmed that they're weekly schedule is something like: Mondays: Weapons Tuesdays: Regular Class Wednesdays: Cardio workout Thursdays: Regular class It sounds good, but might be too expensive to do the entire package. Will know more after tonight, stay tuned........................ Control Point
I take classes at a school that I guess you could say teaches "mixed Arts" It's core Kenpo. but has aspects of greco- roman wrestling, Judo grappling/submissions and aikido (some thai kicks knees and elbows. we dont have weapon training but the rest makes up for it, I enjoy it alot and im sure you will as well. cross training is key! If i still have all my blood it was a good fight, if not, it was a great fight._______________________________________Kenpo
Dekan
Well, this one was a good contender for what I was looking for, unfornatly it is too expensive. I wouldn't say it isn't worth it, it might be since for $55/month you can attend up to four nights per week, but we are on tite budget and can't swing $55/month, every month, for this There is another new school opening up not too far, but haven't been able to get any details about their schedule and exact offerings yet. Hopefully will work it out and be back in the arts soon........
