Stevo Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 Hey i would like to start some judo to help me with my grappling. There are a couple schools close to my house there's a japenease cultural centre near that teaches it it's a nice facility and i was wondering that that it being part of a very japenease institution would make the instruction better worse? Would i do better to look at a privatly run school
Karateka_latino Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 Well, I once took a Tai Chi Seminar from the Chinese/Panamenian Cultural Center and they brought the Instructor directly from China. Maybe that's the good thing you may have. Also, you may learn to speak some Japanese besides the chance to train with a Instructor from Japan.
ZeRo Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 id go check out all the schools and have a look at a class before deciding where to go. look at how well the students are using technique and how well they seem to know what the teacher is talking about.
Kensai Posted March 8, 2003 Posted March 8, 2003 Probably better, seeing as Judo is where the MA came from. I would go check it out before signing up for anything.
