G95champ
Hard question. Most are very good fighters but IMO Martial Arts means the development of the mind, spirt, body, as well as learing manners, history, traditions. If you just learn to fight you are missing out on a lot. That traditional martial arts allow. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
AndrewGreen
I'm assuming you mean mixed martial arts, and on that I say yes. Far more so then any "traditional" stylist in my opinion. Ali
So I think you are asking if somebody who do not learn any martial arts but fight a lot as Reality fighting In Hong Kong, we named it as "gangster's fight" <----Literal translation. They usually throw punching with many pre-action just as pulling the whole arm back. Usually they may throw 2 to 3 hook and then with not very correct push kick. And may tried to get close to throw someone on ground. I would say if anyone who are 6 feet 3 inches tall, weigh 200 Ibs and with well built. Then this is not easy to tackle. If they learnt a little bit capture skill, boxing and judo skill for few months. Then this is not easy to tackle when you are 30 Ibs less than the guy even you may have more all-rounded and experienced than him. Darkness grants me pair of dark black eye,Yet I determine to look for Brightness

Karateka_latino
Reality fighting events are contest with a set of rules.. People go there and fight for money. That's not a Martial Art style. People who go to compete use martial arts for fights. But the Reality Fight/MMA/NHB/ Aren't martial Arts. The people who compete there are Fighters, not all of them are martial artists in all the extension of the word. They see the martial arts as Tools to help them in competition and not as a way of life. Isshinryu kid. If a person doesn't do kata doesnt mean that person is Less martial artist, In fact, there are many TRADITIONAL martial arts that doen't have Kata either. Kirves
All martial arts should be about reality. If it's not about reality, it's not martial.
