Kirves Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 From what the Sensei at The JuJitsu place said is that both Aikido and BJJ came from this particular art of JuJitsu. Are you sure the instructor meant this exact style? To the best of my knowledge that is not the case. Aikido for sure came from Daito-ryu Aikijujutsu. BJJ to the best of my knowledge, came mostly from judo (please correct me if I'm wrong, someone).
Kensai Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 Well JJ and Aikido wont prepare you intime for an attack. your best best in Krav Maga, Judo or something like that, where you will pick stuff up strait anyway. Aikido offensive techniques are usually known as Premitive Aiki. Usually involves short powerful strikes to set if for a throw or lock.
Dustin1978 Posted February 23, 2003 Author Posted February 23, 2003 well she used terms i was not familiar with. like asian words. she said that the BJJ creators stuidied the (somthing) and took from ti what they liked and only really studied the grapling. I am not too sure about the Aikido
BKJ1216 Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 I'd go either jiu jitsu or aikido, i've heard aikido takes a long time to learn though. White Belt- Shudokan Karate
