Hi,

I'm somewhat interested in this art and there is a shotokan club nearby. I noticed that this style has a lot of different organizations. Does anyone know anything about the SKA organization?

You should be able to type Shotokan Karate of America in to a search engine and gets their home site. SKA along with JKA and AJKA are the 3 big Shotokan groups.

Here is their main site. It should have all the info you need. If not email or call them they will be happy to talk to you. However Im sure the dojo your looking at should be able to answer most of your questions.

Thanks for the advice, I'm searching through websites right now,

But,

I was wondering what all of you thought about it. Is it a good organization, etc?

Thanks.

I agree with Ramy, damn the organisations they are not instructing you.

A good sensei is the most important (and hard to find). I suggest you speak to the sensei of the dojo you are interested in and observe a few classes to see if its right for you. Good luck in your search.

Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
