g_M_e
I've been searching the web for a bamboo bo and I can't find one. Anyone have a supplier? Thanks in advance! g_M_e
SBN Doug
I don't think you'll want bamboo. Being hallow, it won't stand up well to solid wood. I prefer rattan, but check out this thread for some other options. http://www.karateforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=5586 Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing. Martial_Artist
Yup, I think you mean rattan. Having lived in a bamboo forest before, I don't think there's much for the thin bamboo shoots before they hollow out into bamboo. Rattan, however, is probably what you're thinking of, or waxwood. MA. Treebranch
I have a Jo made of hickory. It has a good weight and it's hard as hell. I also just bought a Bo made of Hickory, the weight is nice and it's hard as a rock. I'd buy a nice Hardwood Bo like Hickory, Walnut, Cherry, Oak, something tough with some weight to it. Practice with something like that and when you pick up one of those toothpicks you'll feel like it's childs play.
