i love bamboo, i use it for practicing and learning stuff with it (if i can do it on bamboo then i can do it on any bo basically) but for competition i use this bo

Yup, I think you mean rattan. Having lived in a bamboo forest before, I don't think there's much for the thin bamboo shoots before they hollow out into bamboo. Rattan, however, is probably what you're thinking of, or waxwood.

I have a Jo made of hickory. It has a good weight and it's hard as hell. I also just bought a Bo made of Hickory, the weight is nice and it's hard as a rock. I'd buy a nice Hardwood Bo like Hickory, Walnut, Cherry, Oak, something tough with some weight to it. Practice with something like that and when you pick up one of those toothpicks you'll feel like it's childs play. :D

my graphite one is like so light its crazy... i should probly get a heavier one but eh ill just stick with this one for now
