Xtreme Fury Posted October 9, 2002 Posted October 9, 2002 My long term goal in martial arts(only) is to be the best I can. My short term goal is to get into the best shape of my life and start a sport-and actually get good at it instead of quitting!
LeaF Posted October 9, 2002 Posted October 9, 2002 Short Term Goal: to get my shodan(1st degree black belt) in both karate and kobudo (this should happen in the next couple years, for some this might seem like a long term goal, but I have been training for half my life so 1 year does not seem like that long ) Long term goal: To NEVER stop doing what I love, the martial arts Goju Ryu Karate-do and Okinawan Kobudo, 17 Years Old 1st kyu Brown Belt in in Goju Ryu Karate-do, & Shodan in Okinawan KobudoGiven enough time, any man may master the physical. With enough knowledge, any man may become wise. It is the true warrior who can master both....and surpass the result.I AM CANADIAN
ramymensa Posted November 15, 2002 Posted November 15, 2002 As i said before I have ALOT of respect for other people, my goal is to gain the respect of others, thats all i was saying! Ang Well you'll get a "limited" respect by doing MA. You'll be great and those from your style would respect you. The others? Hmmm I doubt, because their feelings towards your occupation are mixed: some think you are crazy fo doing this, some would fear you, some would scorn you ... Respect is hard to gain. If you are a good person (and I've got a hunch it's the case ) you'll make it. Be serious, polite, gentle, smart, funny, modest, proficient and so on and they'll respect you. Don't try to achiev this ONLY by doing MA training. It's irrelevant for the others, although it helps you shape yourself ... World Shotokan Karate
BlueDragon1981 Posted November 19, 2002 Posted November 19, 2002 My new goal is to get through each day. To many bad things going on right now for me. So my temporary new goal is to survive.
ramymensa Posted November 20, 2002 Posted November 20, 2002 BlueDragon1981 you'll get better. The only thing good in having some very nasty times is that you cannot get lower than that, it could only get better, and I will eventually. It's difficult, but you'll survive. Hope you'll write us soon you are doing great. Take care and get better World Shotokan Karate
