Traditionally there a no belts in kung-fu; however, some schools have added systems for $$$, or for motivation.

Many of the "joe public" have the misconception that all arts have belts, and that a black belt is the end all be all of martial arts.

Are they belts or sashes you wore Rocko? Also under who's lineage does he fall? Lineage is very important to chinese martial artists. Also what style?

i heard a story that in ancient china monks who guarded the temple who had learned martial arts would wear a white belt to hold there uniform together,

but as years went past, and they became more experienced , the belt became very dirty and became black,

thus showing the system white to black

just something i heard i guess
