Ali Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 Hello, everybody. Can anyone tell me about development of wrestling in USA. How many style or division? In my knowledge, I only either know about WWF or some sort of International Wrestling (with 2 guy compete in a Circle) Any famous organisation? In China, wrestling mainly divide into 4 styles, namely, Beijing, Tianjin, Po Ting & Mongolian style. Around 17 Century, Qing Dynasty even set up institution in Royal Palace as one of security sections. Of course, wrestling generate much earlier and even date back to BC. Thanks in advance. Tobias_Reece Posted February 6, 2003 Posted February 6, 2003 Are you wanting to know about 'Amatuer Wrestling' (olympic etc.) or 'Professional Wrestling' (AKA Sports Entertainment, with fixed matches)? If its about the Professional Wrestling, I might be able to help (I'm sure many others will as well.) Regards "You Are Never Given A Dream Without Also Being Given The Power To Make It True. Ali Posted February 7, 2003 Author Posted February 7, 2003 Thank you Mr Heel Hook & Tabias_Reece Maybe I would like to know more about professional wrestling. Frankly speaking, my concept is in till 1920's, professional wrestlers were still REAL martial artist. And it seems that there might even struggle for World Champ between USA and Russian. And when this turn into some sort of "Show" just as WWF (Of course, this is big business and interesting) Can anybody tell me more, Thanks! Mr Heel Hook Posted February 7, 2003 Posted February 7, 2003 Well, yeah it's not what it use to be. The WWE (Its not WWF anymore) is like you said...just entertainment. I remember watching a documentary about wrestlers from that era. Really impressive stuff. Some matches took 2 hours to complete. Not very exciting...true, but still impressive in its own way. Good luck, my friend! "A deer admires a lion. But all the members of our family are lions. So it doesn't matter which lion I admire. " -Rener Gracie-
