Sanshou become illegal in New York?

Recommended Posts

:bawling:

Is that true that US government pass

an Act to ban Sanshou?

And many Kungfu competitions become

illegal in New York.

I am a newcomer from Hong Kong.

banning a certain style would be a decision that must be taken with great care. I sincerelly doubt, because USA it's the land of freedom, isn;t it?

I don't know anything about sanshou, but I guess it's not more dangerous than other styles ... well who knows ... Anybody ... have you got informations about the problem here?

Ahhh, now I see. The state of N.Y., as do all states, regulate what types of "sporting events" can have touneyments. If this art is not registered with the state, or on the "approved" list, then they are not permitted to conduct tourneyment competitions.

This does not make the art illegal to teach or learn.

COmpetitions will be legal if they go through one of the governing bodies mentioned. It was a hasty law and ill thought out. They are planning on revising it but you know government could take ages.
