Everyone please respect each others opinions. There are many who agree with Shotochem and many who fell as you do rb.

This isn't just a scientific issue it does have an emotional aspect as well.

I find your attitude equally disturbing

RB,

As you get older you see more and more that you find wrong with the world.

All is not as they teach you in school. The world is not always warm and fuzzy.

My grandparents had pearl harbor. My parents the bay of pigs, cuban missile crisis, and the assasination of both Kennedys and Martin Luther King. They served in Korea and Vietnam. They went through segregation then integration.

Ive seen the hostages from Iran, the cold war, Reagan being sho,t the challenger being lost and the Berlin wall finally coming downand the first gulf war. Every morning for 3 weeks I would drive to work and see a plume of smoke where the WTC once stood.

When you live a little longer and experience a little more you will be suprised at what is really disturbing.......

I hope that you and the younger members of this forum get to live in a happy peaceful world in the future. I just cant help being a slight bit on the pessimistic side.

That being said, perhaps I should stay away from serious topics and stay with something I enjoy discussing MAs!!!!! :) :) :)

(Politics are too depressing  )

Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.

Shotochem,

I've been around for all the stuff you've described. My parents were alive for the begining of the space race and the cold war. I agree that the world is not always a great place, however I choose to react differently.

This thread never was about scientific issues.

I feel there's a difference between bearing the burden of pessimism/cynicism and deriving pleasure from it.

But yeah, it's a scary world.
