August 23Aug 23 Tonight my wife and I went to the Guns N Roses concert in Las Vegas, NV at the Allegiant Stadium. My wife and I have been fans of GNR for over 30 years, and this was our first time seeing them live. The Black Crowes was the opening act; their playset lasted 45 minutes. My wife and I had never heard of them. However, they were pretty darn good!!The gates were suppose to open at 4:55pm but due to the Guns N’ Roses still doing their sound check the gates weren’t opened until 5;30pm. The temperature was 107 degrees and there were a lot of seniors out in those unbearable heat. After The Black Crowes finished, the Guns N’ Roses concert was suppose to start at 8;00pm, but it didn’t begin until 8:42pm.The house was packed!! This was the 2nd time that GNR performed in Las Vegas. First time was 3 years ago.The GNR playset was 27 songs during their 3 hours on the stage with them playing many of their signature songs. While many, many fans were very disappointed and said that it was the worse concert that they’ve ever been to. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish!!Yes, Axel Rose’s voice isn’t what it used to be but he did his very best. His voice is taxed but oftentimes his voice was crystal clear. The band…well…they’re one of the best in the world. Maybe GNR should consider to make this tour its last tour; that would sadden me.I suppose you can please some people some of the time, but not all of the people all of the time.Axel’s voice was powerful and full of passion. Guns N Roses is one of the most powerful and iconic bands on planet earth. Their music last night was just as good as it was 34 years ago.WE LOVED IT!! August 24Aug 24 Glad you had a great time. The Black Crows were a pretty big band at one time; they had some hits like She Talks to Angels, Twice as Hard, and Jealous Again. That sounds like an excellent opening act. GnR is my favorite band and I have been fortunate enough to have seen them live over 20 times across many years and variations of the bands line up, though the last time I saw them was in 2021. I think when they play stadiums like that some of the sound quality depends on where you are sitting. I saw them at US Bank Stadium (home of the Vikings) in 2017 and from where I was, they were great, but others said not so much in other sections. As for as Axl, I hear mixed reviews on his voice now. Some of the stuff I saw online a while back he did not sound good, but other songs he is still solid. His voice is not as strong as it used to be, he is in his mid 60s and has been belting out three hour shows for the last 20 years, at some point his voice is gonna go. If people are expecting the Axl Rose of 1992 they are setting themselves up for disappointment, that is not a realistic expectation. Time stops for nobody.Anyway, glad you enjoyed the show and got to see them live. Appetite for Destruction will turn 40 next year, so maybe they will do a special tour for that and you will be able to see them again! Edited August 24Aug 24 by KarateKen
