Jasper

Featured Replies

Today, July 3, 2026, at 2pm, we had to put our 16 year old cat, Jasper to sleep due to pancreatitis cancer.

My wife, Linda, Nathan, our son, and myself were with him as he crossed the Rainbow Bridge in Linda’s arms, with Nathan and I sitting right there on either side of Linda.

His brother, Voldemort, who passed away 9 years ago will be waiting for Jasper on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

Jasper will be missed!! We’ve many fond memories of them both that we’ll cherish forever. Since we made the decision, Jasper’s been in my lap everyday all day and night. Not so surprising, yet, Jasper is Linda’s cat. Forever he’d lay in her lap…not mine. As far as he was concerned, he’d only give me the time of day whenever he wanted something like to be feed. Linda was his mom, and I was invisible.

Until these past 3 weeks.

I balled my eyes out everyday leading up today, and today was no exception, and since his passing, I’ve been wailing and balling my eyes out.

Tomorrow we’ll wake up without him and his silent meow, which always melted my heart, but every time I think about me, he’ll be in my heart.

Linda says that she’ll never ever get another cat. I believe her!!

We love you and will miss you always Jaspe!! Heaven must’ve needed a new Angel so God chose Jasper.

We still have Midnight. He’s a 6 year old Bombay cat. Linda rescued him when we lived in Houston, TX. He was a very young kitten when he was rescued.

As Linda remembers…

”I was walking back to our apartment after taking the trash out one day and I saw this tiny black kitten sit by the A/C unit next to an abandoned apartment door. I went to pick him up but as I tried to pick him up, I was told off by some kids, so I left him. I went back by again 2-3 days later and saw he was still there. I went home and told Bob, he told me to go get him, so I went back, picked him up, and took him home.

Nathan saw him and said, “He’s mine!!””

Linda saved his life!!

I'm sorry Bob.  Losing a pet it very hard.  You and your wife gave that cat a great life.  You lengthened his life and gave him the best years he could have had.
