LOILOI44 Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 I was just curious to see what type of surface you practice on. I once saw an aik-jitsu class that practiced on hard wood floors. They would do full speed techniques on hard wood. I thought this was crazy. I have to say that they had the most amazing breakfalls I have ever seen. The school has since been closed, but I was amazed by their ability. Has anybody seen anything like this, or do you practice on a hard surface?
Kensai Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Only on foam mats. Although sometimes on grass.

Kirves Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Padded mats, hardwood floor, grass, snow, sand, sometimes we go with ice, asphalt or cement quickly just to see what it's like.

Kyle-san Posted January 31, 2003 Posted January 31, 2003 Mats, but I'm not sure how good the padding is anymore. Sometimes I use hardwood, but only when going slowly.
