kazuya Mishima Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Do you know of an internet site that has bunkai of katas with explanations? Here its really hard to find books not to mention videos. The best way to improve is practice.
Kirves Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Dunno about good websites, but check this book out: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0911921362/qid=1043923176/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_1/102-8778148-2044914?v=glance&s=books
shotochem Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 Try Shawn Jeffersons site it has some pretty good stuff. http://www.24fightingchickens.com/shawnjefferson/ For kata info check out shotokan planet http://www.24fightingchickens.com/shotokan/kata/index.html Lots of good stuff Pain is only temporary, the memory of that pain lasts a lifetime.
karatekid1975 Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 This is a good one, also: http://www.shotokankata.com/ Lotta good kata info, including pics of moves and bunkai. Laurie F
hobbitbob Posted January 30, 2003 Posted January 30, 2003 For Shotokan Kata, if you can find Vince Morris and Aidan Trimble's series of books on Kata, they offer good, unorthodox (i.e.: block, punch) bunkai. They are out of print, but well worth the investment if oyu find them. I have seen them at Capitol Hill Books in Denver, and Half Price Books in Seattle at various times. There have always been Starkadders at Cold Comfort Farm!
