This is exactly right. There are a few techniques like that later in the kata. I tried them on one of my training partners at maybe 2% power and he said his jaw was sore for three days. That's when I realized nunchakus really are lethal force. That's also why I use a dummy for the video.

Think of the nunchaku like a nut cracker. Two ends applying extreme amounts of force on a central point. Now, think where you can apply that force, such as wrists, elbows, neck, feet and ankles.
